The Queen Visits Cowes Yacht Haven
Ancasta had yet another brush with the great and the good this week, when her Majesty the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh spent the last day of her jubilee celebratory tour in Cowes.
Arriving in the Solent on the beautiful luxury super yacht, Leander, the Queen was greeted with a 21 gun salute from the Royal Yacht Squadron. Cowes seafront was absolutely packed with loyal supporters and after officially opening the new lifeboat station, the Queen and her party moved on to Cowes Yacht Haven, home of our Cowes office. Here she talked with representatives of various groups and charities including Sea Scouts, Sea Cadets the RYA and Dame Ellen MacArthur, who discussed the work her charity was currently undertaking.
Tony Reeve, Manager of Ancasta Cowes, told us the atmosphere in the Haven was absolutely fantastic and as one of Cowes Yacht Haven’s tenants, he was given a prime position from which to greet the Queen as she disembarked from Leander’s tender and made her way to the Events Centre.
Photography being a particular passion of Tony’s, he was poised and ready with his camera and predictably got some fantastic shots of her Majesty on arrival.
It’s been an extremely busy few weeks in Cowes with the classics out in all their glory and the Commodores Cup taking place this week. Lots of our customers have been enjoying the festivities and no doubt we will see many more of you for this year’s Aberdeen Asset Management Cowes Week.
