Motor Boats Monthly Give Their Verdict on the Prestige 450
Those already in possession of the Motor Boats Monthly July issue, cannot have failed to notice that the front page ‘world exclusive’ dedicates itself to the new Prestige 450, while declaring it to have the ‘best master cabin under 50 ft’.
Dedicating six pages to the brilliant 450, the magazine covers every aspect of the new model with meticulous detail. Beginning with the design and build MBM tells us that while greatly inspired by the layout of the best selling Prestige 500, the gel coat finish gives away the 450’s Italian design roots and makes the boat look suitably expensive .
The magazine does not hold back when it comes to extolling the virtues of the master cabin.
“ It is a proper full-beam master cabin with a transverse berth, big hull windows at both ends and plenty of storage. The ensuite toilet compartment is a good size and features a separate shower stall. Cleverly, Prestige has put the heads forward to port, while the forward cabin ensuite/day toilet is aft to starboard, putting two bulkheads between the cabins, so the feeling of privacy with which the separate stairwell engenders this cabin is not just illusionary. It’s a proper ‘big boat’ feature, and gives the 450 a fantastic unique selling point.”
Going on to discuss performance and handling, interiors, the helm and engine bay, MBM come to their conclusion , or more aptly namef ‘Verdict’.
“ Prestige is an aspirational and dynamic brand, backed by one of Europe’s boatbuilding giants – Jeanneau. And it’s that level of aspiration and backing that has allowed them to produce a boat that’s as daring and avant-garde as this. The big boat accommodation here offers something unique and genuinely appealing in the sub 50ft market and backs up this brand’s premier league intentions.”
