Blue Fin is handed over to Motor Boats Monthly
After months of anticipation, she arrived and the keys were passed over.
The MBM crew arrived at Ancasta’s Port Hamble offices first thing in the morning. Following a welcome cup of coffee, it was down to the pontoons to see the new boat. She sparkled and was looking truly fabulous with her champagne coloured hull and bespoke graphics. The morning session provided an introduction to the new Cruising Club lead boat, with detailed explanations of all systems provided by Ancasta’s commissioning technician, Adam.
Adam was supported by “Volvo” John who demonstrated the engine and fuel systems connected to the Volvo Penta D3-220hp engines and joystick controlled sterndrives; while an electrician specialising in the new Raymarine and Mastervolt kit was also on hand for advice.
Following a well earned lunch break, a glorious blue sky and light southerly wind awaited on the Solent and she was duly put through her paces.
After the sea trial it was back alongside for information on servicing and support, before a pause to reflect on a busy day. Soon, it was time to start loading her up with gear ready for the first cruise to the Channel Islands.
