Ancasta Autumn Collection - OUT NOW

Welcome to Ancasta’s 2016 Autumn Collection.

This is the 10th Edition and it appears the appeal of the magazine and its content continues to grow. Ancasta Collection Magazine is proving to be a very effective way of highlighting the advice, services, events, support and indeed the very best in new product that Ancasta continues to provide. The magazine medium makes a nice alternative to the online experience that dominates the modern buying process. We can see this is popular amongst our customers from the number of Collections that are picked up through our offices. People like something to read and flick through.

Nick Griffith

This Autumn edition includes a wide variety of topics;

As the 2016 summer is coming to a close we are now looking towards a very hectic Boat Show season which starts in September and runs through until late January.

The past summer has left us all feeling that boating is once again on the up. We had a very busy schedule of events over the last four months all of which were extremely well attended. One lasting image I have is the sight of the Armada that came out to support Land Rover BAR at the Portsmouth America’s Cup World Series over the three days. It was a good thing that the locals’ favourites managed to win in style. Both Cowes Week and the Round the Island Race also saw terrific turnouts. From a cruising perspective we experienced great support for the numerous cruising events that were staged during the summer.

From a boat sales perspective, there is no doubt the shadow of Brexit impeded business prior to the referendum, however it appears it was more the uncertainty of the decision which was playing on people’s minds rather than the actual decision. Touch wood, it does appear now there is some clarity, the boating public are becoming more comfortable with future prospects. This has been demonstrated by a post Brexit activity level which bodes well for the Boat Show season.

This year we see the 36th Swanwick Used boat show. This is the show that coincides with the Southampton Boat Show and we have received record entry levels which is another positive sign that boating is back on the up.

Inside this edition there is a lot of information previewing all the shows, especially Southampton and Swanwick, and of course Cannes, where Ancasta will have a large presence. Hopefully you will be able to attend some of these events. There is going to be some exciting new product on show, which should be of interest to all boaters.

Southampton Boat Show will see Ancasta along with Beneteau and more importantly the People’s Postcode Lottery, presenting the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust with their new Beneteau Oceanis 45. The Trust’s work is of the highest order and the stories of what they achieve everyday are amazing. It was great to see when this project was proposed, how all the parties involved rose to the challenge. The consequence being that the Trust’s new base in Largs has a brand new yacht which has been modified by HYSRR to suit the children’s needs and will provide the same fabulous experiences the Trust has provided out of Cowes for many years. Ancasta, Beneteau and HYSRR are very proud of being able to help make this happen.

Elsewhere in this edition you will find interesting information on running rigging, the new technology in boat handling – the Jet Thruster revolution, a guide to Southampton Water, as well as details on over 400 boats for you to consider.

I hope you enjoy this edition of the Ancasta Collection and hopefully we can be of service in some way over the coming months.
