Mark Jenkinson

Born and raised in landlocked Manchester but fortunate to have very regular visits to North Wales and spend time on the water with friends and family. At 13 Marks parents offered to take him to Disneyland in the US, he opted for a competent crew course in Hamble instead! From this moment on, he knew he would end up by the sea one day. In 2013 with family in tow, they took the plunge and moved to Cowes on the Isle of Wight. Since this time Mark has been regularly racing dinghies, keelboats and taken part in many offshore races in Europe and the Caribbean on some fantastic yachts like the Volvo 65 as navigator. Mark is firmly involved in the local community helping to run the junior triathlon club as head coach and also Vice Commodore of Gurnard Sailing Club. Marks love of boats (both power and sail) has taken him to Ancasta Cowes so that he can share his passion with others and help them find the perfect boats for their adventures.

Ancasta Guide to Cowes

Located in Cowes Yacht Haven, Ancasta Cowes has been at the heart of the UK’s sailing mecca for many years. Offering a full range of professional yacht brokerage services for both newcomers and seasoned owners, our support includes personalised marine finance options, new boat commissioning, and ongoing yacht care through Ancasta Yacht Services.

We are also joined by sister company Advanced Rigging & Hydraulics in Cowes, whose experienced riggers can help with everything from rig checks and running rigging requirements, to spar repairs and furling systems.

We look forward to welcoming you to Cowes, but please call us ahead of your visit, as the team may be working in the boatyard or away from the office.

Cowes is renowned for its world-class sailing regattas and historic nautical events. With a myriad of yacht clubs and marinas lining the shore, including the prestigious Royal Yacht Squadron, there’s always a warm welcome for visiting yachts and plenty to do ashore. Wander along Cowes High Street to enjoy an eclectic mix of independent boutique shops, and grab a bite to eat in one of the many pubs, bars and restaurants offering everything from gastro cuisine to wood fired pizza.

Out on the water, you’ll have superb access to the Solent, which boasts endless cruising destinations, including the bustling yachting town of Yarmouth, Bembridge’s picturesque lagoon, and the tranquil creek of Newtown on the island, as well as Hamble and Beaulieu River on the mainland.
I couldn't have asked for a better experience buying my first catamaran with Mark at Cowes Ancasta. Buying a yacht can be a daunting experience, but Mark made the entire process incredibly smooth and enjoyable, made sure all my questions were answered, helped out with planning some difficult maintenance items and even warmed my boat up for my day on the boat on a chilly evening! Thanks Mark!

Nick is highly professional and friendly. I really liked his approach particularly the fact that he is not pushy and presents an objective view. He has listened to my requirements and ensured those were captured in the broker agreement and has ensured that the sale happened very smoothly and consistent with our discussions. I think he is a real asset to Ancasta and I will be recommending him very highly to other people I know that want to buy or sell their boats.
