Purchasing a boat is such an exciting time for any owner. From the time the contract is signed, there is an enormous amount of organisation required to finalise specifications, arrange boat transport or delivery, order parts, book sub-contractors and manage the whole commissioning process. We have a dedicated team to guide you through the process, and deliver your boat to your exact requirements.
Our commissioning team will be in touch as soon as the contract is confirmed, to arrange a commissioning meeting at our HQ in Port Hamble, UK. Giving you the opportunity to discuss options you may not have thought about during the initial purchase, from WiFi connectivity to boat name graphics. If the decision is made early enough options such as passerelles and bow thrusters can still be included in the factory fit package, but don’t worry, if that’s not possible then most customisation options can be accommodated during the commissioning period by the Ancasta team.
Dedicated Commissioning Technician
The basic commissioning process takes approximately two weeks from the boat’s arrival, although more time may be needed for boats with more complex equipment specifications. A dedicated Ancasta Technician will be appointed, who will be there from your boats arrival, ready to unwrap it and check it thoroughly, before fitting loose equipment while it’s having anti-foul applied. They will oversee any sub-contractors involved in the preparation of your boat ensuring they treat your new boat with the same care that we do, take the boat for a sea trial to check the systems all run as they should, and carry out the final snagging prior to the detailed pre-handover valet.
Once the boat is fully commissioned and ready for handover, you will be invited to join our Technician onboard for a full handover day – we are very happy to extend this to two days if you are taking ownership of one of our larger models, or would appreciate some additional time. During the day we will walk you through your boat, checking the specification against each elements of your new boat and its equipment. Our Sales team will go through all the paperwork, and once everything is signed you’ll be handed the keys ready to start your adventures.
Although we commission the majority of new boats at our commissioning centre at HQ in Port Hamble, near Southampton, we also offer handover location options on the French Atlantic coast, the French Mediterranean coast and in Mallorca, Spain. If you choose to have your boat commissioned in Europe, your boat will be commissioned by one of our overseas partners. Our Technician will then spend a couple of days checking the boat thoroughly ensuring it’s prepared to our high standards and is ready for your arrival on handover day.
Taking ownership of your new boat is just the start of a supportive, long- lasting relationship. After handover you’ll be introduced to our Aftersales and Customer Service team, who’ll be on hand to assist in any way they can so you can enjoy your new boat to the full.
