Overview

COLUMBUS OF LYMINGTON was built in 1972 by Sheepswerken in the Netherlands to a J.F.H. Roger design in the tradition of a classic gentleman yacht. Her second owner, who enjoyed her for more than 30 years upgraded her in many areas. She was equipped with a schooner rig and an auxiliary engine Volvo 72 hp engine with sail drive to use her under sail while the original TWIN CATERPILLAR D343 diesel engines still allow the use under engine at a cruising speed of 12 knots and a top speed of 14 knots. Further upgrades include an extension of the hull of 2.5m to now 26m, the addition of a bulb to reduce pitching while under engine, remote steering controls, a jacuzzi on the fore deck to list a few. The third owner continues to upgrade her with some fresh and modern amenities while keeping the classic style. The yacht can sleep up to 7 guests in 3 double cabins with ensuite bathrooms plus 2 crew.
