Gelert (Ex-ROXY) is an immaculately prepared and IRC optimized racer from the pen of John Corby.
Built in 2010 for the Irish Commodores Cup team she immediately ran away with success at the event, but then remained extremely lightly used for a number of years.
Recent ownership has reignited the performance and with a new rig, new sails and a full cosmetic and hardware overhaul in 2019/20, the boat is nothing short of impeccable.
Ready to race and brilliantly kitted out, this is a real quality boat looking for a new home.


GELERT (Ex-Roxy)
Hull Material/Construction: Composite hull, Cedar strips planks scarfed together, then faired, sheathed in carbon fibre,
Finish; Hull fully faired and painted to a fine finish with epoxy coatings and finished with Awlgrip paint. EVERY external surface faired and repainted in 2020.
The superstructure is a carbon fibre/foam sandwich composite.
Carbon used in reinforcement areas internally.
New IRC keel and bulb in 2020.

Spars & Rigging

Brand new in 2019, Gelert is fitted with a custom, all-carbon rig from Selden UK, with many upgrades from the standard specification.
A twin spreader configuration, carbon boom and rod standing rigging.
Setup to be reef capable and with a short IRC bowsprit, she is fantastically optimized for IRC racing and ease of handling.

All new hardware in 2019 and a full new running rigging package throughout.
New hydraulic backstay ram.
New composite backstay cable.
Enerpac hydraulic mast jack with shims for rig tension adjustment.
New carbon spinnaker pole so symmetric and asymmetric options both possible.
Forestay loadcell installed.

Sail Inventory

Entirely new sail inventory from North Sails in 19/2020.
Very, very little use in 2020 and 2021.

Gelert has recently undergone a complete overhaul with ALL deck hardware removed and replaced as required.
A huge amount of attention to detail has been paid to the new hardware and its layout for boat handling/performance by some very experienced campaigners.

Interior spaces we very well appointed for a race boat, with potential sleeping for 10 crew if required.
Bow and stern areas are kept light with pipe cots installed in main saloon, ensuring offshore options are there from the start.
A nicely laid out chart table to stb and simple galley burner and sink to port, with decent storage for both. Centrally located table can be easily removed.
Immaculate red upholstery on the cushions can easily be removed for racing.
