A high capacity DESSALATOR watermaker is also fitted.
The Amel 55 features a centre cockpit with a hardtop and a removable winter (bad weather) enclosure. An extendable sliding sun roof protects the entire cockpit. A folding centre table and cockpit cushions make this area an entertaining space, as well as a safe and protected helm station. Awnings giving rain and sun protection at anchor and aft sun bathing provide plenty of space for lounging. The HYDRAULIC GANGWAY make the access onboard easier.

CONSTRUCTION
Designed by Berret & Racoupeau designers
Hull and deck made from composite, Roving 71 glass fibre/isopthalic resin, monothilic laminate, laid up by hand in lengthwise and transverse layers with a two thirds overlap. Deck glued and laminated to hull and bulkheads.
Frame structure in polyurethane omega-foam and plywood, laminated to the hull, as is all the joinery structure
Bulkheads are glued and laminated with the deck. Four of them are watertight collision bulkheads with isolation valves.
Cast iron ballast fixed to the hull / keel by stainless steel bolts.
Skeg hung rudder, 60mm stainless steel rudder stock, mechanical steering.
