'Serendipity' is a very well presented Rodman 41 IPS which offers sparkling performance with excellent economy. An extremely robust hull provides excellent sea keeping qualities along with a luxurious interior providing accommodation for up to six comfortably. We can't think of anything that may be needed to be added to her specification and her Volvo IPS engines offer 30% better fuel efficiency, 20% faster acceleration and 15% higher top speed compared to an equivalent shaft propelled 45 foot flybridge yacht. This example has also been fitted with the IPS joystick for ease of handling in the marina and is a fantastic tool to encourage people to buy a boat of this size making berthing so much easier and stress free.Professionally maintained and currently on her berth in Brighton available to view 7 days a week by appointment.ABOUT IPS:A new way of sailing... Rodman was the first global manufacturer to present and sell boats equipped with the revolutionary IPS (Inboard Performance System) from Volvo Penta, achieving an amazing development in the performance of pleasure craft including these engine systems. This new totally electronic system has been successfully integrated into propulsion systems – propellers, shafts, brackets…-, steering – rudder, shafts and hydraulics – exhaust and air recirculation. All in all it is the perfect integration of these systems in the same set. In essence, the advantages of Rodman boats containing the IPS system can be summarised as:Greater acceleration The IPS system enables greater efficiency of engine performance, which translates in an increase of up to 75% of acceleration capacity until it soars above traditional systems, with a reduction from 15 to 5 seconds. Likewise, top speed is reached more quickly.Less consumption, more autonomy The high efficiency of this type of engine and better system performance (talking about greater efficiency and better performance achieved with engines equipped with this system) enable a reduction of up to 25% in fuel consumption, and consequently an increase of up to 35% in autonomy of the vessel at cruise speed.More manoeuvrability Its navigable propulsion units, so that when one of them spins the full current and force of the propeller points in the desired direction, and the totally electronic nature of the system, mean that precise and immediate instructions are transmitted from the rudder to propulsion units, so general manoeuvrability is considerably improved during sailing, enabling a reduction of up to 50% in turning diameter and also a notable increase in manoeuvrability in low speed berthing operations in port.More interior space The installation of the new propulsion system is at the bottom of the hull, immediately before the bow transom, through holes specially adapted and integrated into the hull. As a result, there is a significant saving in space which can be effectively utilised for other uses of the vessel, optimising habitability.More comfort The system expels fuel gases through the propulsion unit within the propeller flow below the vessel, cutting engine noise by up to 50% as well as the level of external emissions. Also, engine vibrations are considerably reduced thanks to buffers in the propeller unit of the hull which absorb propulsion and steering forces and give engines a much smoother suspension.Ultimately an easier, more intuitive, familiar, comfortable and safe boats so you can fully enjoy your time at sea.
