Taking inspiration from VPLP's proven race results the mast is positioned further aft to increase the aspect ratio of the mainsail and allow for a larger self-tacking jib. We have added the Code 0 bow sprit, running rigging and a laminate Code 0 from Ultimate Sails. Performance downwind sails can be added to the bow sprit for fast cruising and ease of handling.
The mast further aft at 53%, stems directly from VPLP’s experience in competitive sailing and provides this catamaran with multiple advantages: A performing self-tacking jib for simplified manoeuvre, a large forward triangle for a wider choice of downwind sails as well as a shorter boom for easier manoeuvres. The main sail, with a high aspect ratio (2.84), captures better airflow in the upper parts of the sail for optimised performance. The re-centering of weight, thanks to aft positioning of rigging, considerably reduces the pitching moment

OWNERS VERSION SLEEPING SIX IN THREE DOUBLE ENSUITE CABINS:
Generous spaces are evident throughout the hull, with panoramic views, everything is designed to provide a warm and friendly atmosphere.
Externally, the yacht is accessed from wide, shallow sugar scoops with only two shallow steps to the cockpit making boarding from the dinghy or dock easy. This hull has been equipped with the excellent updgrade of the transom Hydraulic platform with remote control, which houses and launches the tender whilst doubling as an excellent swim platform when deployed. This platform is a huge upgrade, making a small beach area in the sea when lowered.
The cockpit has been equipped with an external galley housing storage, propane locker, bin, optional sink, fridge and ice-maker. The large folding teak table houses up to 10 pax and is twinned with a sliding bench to increase space when the table is not in use. Seats and loungers enjoy sea views, have storage lockers underneath, with removable upgraded cushions. Large and safe side decks with flush hatches ensure access is secure in any weather. The flybridge is huge, with double access from the cokpit or the side decks, housing the helm, which is centred for protection and visibility. Aft of the helm, huge sunpads (5m2 / 54 sq.ft ) with adjustable backrests are a hugely popular area when cruising, shaded by the upgraded hard top. The forward cockpit has a small drinks table and is the ideal setting for sundowners at anchor, a really peaceful and private refuge.
The Saloon links seamlessly with the cockpit and features a wide-open plan space with an L-shaped seating area, a large dining table and a well-equipped galley for comfortable onboard living with an upgraded 4 burner force 10 hob. The wrap-around glazing reveals wonderful views out onto the ocean and a upgrade includes the large drop-down forward window which grants simple access to the forward cockpit. The saloon table has the double berth conversion, for those occasions when you have additional guests.
The private owners version dedicates the entire length of the starboard hull and is enhanced with extra large side and stern windows. The owners bed is oriented aft, with upgraded joinery encompasing a desk and additional storage amid ships, with a sumptuous large bathroom and separate shower forward. The elegant interior design has elaborate wood finish Alpi White Oak interior with Fortezza dark wood floors, has been enhanced with the upgraded Grand Comfort upholstery in Ardoise, as well as the Comfort Equipment and Elegance Pack configuration.
To port, the two VIP Guest cabins are separated with a central staircase and each has a private, en-suite heads with separate shower stalls. The cabins are full of natural light and fitted with large hull portholes, this boat comes with additional windows and portholes in the aft cabins. All berths are Queen size and have been upgraded with under bed spring slats. All the Heads have upgrades to electric sea water flush toilets.
The fit out benefits from the upgraded "Elegance Pack", which includes upgrades to the fabric headlining and bed valance, faux leather and stainless steel accessories at bedhead as well as the finish in the bookshelves and the saloon cabinetry sides. A grey composite finish on galley furniture is applied, corian finish added in the showers and fabric modular headboards. This is a significant upgrade over standard and adds richness to the look and feel of the yacht.

Ready for 2024, with a HUGE inventory of upgrades, this Lagoon 46 is stunning. Lagoon have applied all of the lessons from previous 40' projects and come up with the perhaps the perfect layout on the Lagoon 46. Indeed, hull number 500 in the 46 range is due imminently at the yard, testament to the popularity of the model. The huge flybridge adds really useable real estate, especially when twinned with the Hard Top, whilst the owners suite is simply sumptuous and provides all of the accommodation one might expect from a very much larger monohull.Having been lucky enough to deliver several 46's and spent quite some time aboard, I think this may just be all the boat you might ever need. Fun to sail, tested in rugged and robust conditions across the globe, yet still easily managed by two. Space and privacy when you have guests aboard, homely when you don't, the layout is excellent. At Ancasta we have lots of experience setting these yachts up for Global exploration, Caribbean cruising or indeed for Mediterranean summers. Do call to discuss what you might need to achieve from yours.
