IC37 lands in Europe

“Putting the power back in the hands of the Corinthian sailor...”

MELGES IC37 Overview

Introducing the Melges IC37 from Mark Mills.
This mid-sized, all rounder is capable in both class racing, IRC, ORCi and has an awful lot to offer the discerning racer.

The thought process for the IC37 was always to put the power back into the hands of the owner, on a platform that offers that big boat feel, but with a design that is easy to maintain and doesn't require huge owner and crew input.
The IC37 fills a substantial gap in the market for those sailors that are looking for fun, fast sailing, with potent rating performance and most importantly ease of use…………. Welcome to the IC37 by Melges.

With the first UK boat racing and having already leapt to success in its first season with an overall win at Cowes Week, its clear to see these boats are a great fit for UK regattas and with simple, robust hardware they are just as capable offshore as they are inshore.

With the second boat now sold the IC37 is the clear choice for teams that are looking to step into a more modern platform, whilst maintaining a sharp eye on capital outlay and running costs.
The IC37 is exclusively for sale through Ancasta Race Boats, so get in touch to arrange a viewing and/or test sail.

The Melges IC37 Class has been developed to redefine the joy of racing for Corinthian owners and crews. The class and the boat were synergistically designed with the goal of a level playing field where a successful performance is based on skill and teamwork rather than a leg up in financial resources or expertise in tuning. It is the “Joy of Racing Reimagined.”
Working from the NYYC’s concept and the potent Mark Mills design, the Melges IC37 Class is looking to build on this foundation by bringing regattas to the European, and specifically the UK, stage

UK Racing

Building on the success that the IC37 has achieved on the International stage, we believe the Melges IC37 is a great prospect for UK Yacht Racing. Built and designed as a properly capable yacht, to tackle all conditions, she has proven herself under IRC, whilst also having a strong One Design following overseas. At 37 feet, she is manageable without a small army of crew, yet has the modern race boat performance that sailors and owners know and love.

Whether its round the cans racing or short offshore regattas you are focussed on the, IC37 offers a balanced approach to big boat racing, with an important eye on cost control, which in today’s world is essential.

Our ultimate goal is to see a fleet of IC37’s grow in the UK and around Europe and offer owners some truly exciting racing, on a big boat format.

The joy of the IC37 is that the boat has the flexibility of both class and handicap racing, making it ideal for the UK market. With the standard RORC events, in addition to the established invitational events, an owner has a plethora of racing options ahead of them. Ancasta Race Boats, Melges Performance Sailboats, and fellow IC37 owners will make the international IC37 community one of the most sought-after circuits on the sailing scene.

Sam said that when the opportunity came up with Ancasta to represent Melges Performance Sailboats and their extremely impressive IC37 design, he immediately recognised the potential.

“It feels like the UK and Ireland market is eager to reignite One Design sailing again and with strict class rules, a seriously impressive machine and an established class that has a primary focus on putting the power back in the hands of Corinthian owners...  It became an unbelievably exciting opportunity. The fact they are also built in the UK, is just icing on the cake.”
