Key Features

McCONAGHY MC50CAT multihull cat Saloon
Typical cruising catamarans feature an aft cockpit, usually protected by a soft enclosure, with a separate saloon accessed through the main bulkhead. The McConaghy MC50CAT steps away from this tradition with a saloon that extends all the way from the front windows to the aft passageway, creating one single, uncluttered space. This can be partially or fully opened with sliding clear panels, making the area both beautiful and versatile.

The interior is that of high-end luxury; a product of British designers, Design Unlimited. Although weight savings have been made by using foam core panels, comfort most certainly has not been compromised. A high attention to detail can also be seen in the prevalence of dovetail joints, fully lined locker interiors and carbon trims on the saloon table.

As a builder of high performance racing yachts, the helm station and access to all of the sail controls is a key area of McConaghy’s expertise. The layout of the twin steering stations has been very carefully considered and all of the sheets and halyards lead back to the cockpit for ease of use. Also take note of the huge skylight over the saloon which will let lots of light into the interior space.
