Ancasta Motorboat Club Rally to Guernsey 2023
What a fantastic trip to Guernsey for the Ancasta Motorboat Club!
The weekend kicked off with a sociable gathering in Yarmouth on Friday evening. As crews arrived, they were welcomed with a refreshing glass of cold Pimm’s on the dock before getting to know each other over dinner in the legendary Salty’s restaurant.
Despite a foggy start the following morning, the weather improved as the sun pierced through the clouds. Led by our exceptional skipper, Tim, the fleet embarked on an enjoyable 80-mile cruise across the Channel, heading towards Guernsey. The journey was smooth and relaxed, with Tim’s expert guidance ensuring a pleasant trip for all. As evening fell, the boats docked in St. Peter Port, providing the perfect setting for everyone to unwind and share stories of their adventure while enjoying a drink aboard Ancasta’s lead boat.
Sunday brought fresh excitement as the fleet set course for Herm Island. Arriving at Shell Bay, the boats dropped anchor, and everyone headed over to the lead Ancasta boat for a delicious lunch and some watersports fun.
On Monday it was time to bid farewell to the Channel Islands and make the journey back to the UK, with the lead boat safely escorting everyone across The Channel before heading to their home ports.
A huge thank you to all who joined us on this fantastic rally. We are already looking forward to the next one!
