Ancasta Motorboat Club Cruise to the Channel Islands
May 2024
Over a beautifully sunny bank holiday weekend in May, the Ancasta Motorboat Club set sail from the charming harbour of Lymington to the picturesque shores of Guernsey and Alderney in the Channel Islands.
The adventure began on Friday evening in Lymington, where the fleet of motor yachts gathered for a pre-voyage dinner. The next morning, under the leadership of the Ancasta lead boat, the fleet embarked on their journey. The conditions couldn’t have been more perfect – blue skies, sunshine and glassy seas ensured a smooth passage from the Solent across the English Channel.
Upon arriving at the first destination, Guernsey, the fleet moored at Saint Peter Port. That evening, everyone enjoyed a delightful dinner together, sharing tales of the day’s adventures and soaking up the vibrant atmosphere.
The following day brought new excitement as the fleet set course for the tranquil island of Alderney. The crews received a warm welcome from the friendly members of the Alderney Sailing Club, who hosted a BBQ and provided a lively evening of socialising at the club bar.
On Monday, it was sadly time to say goodbye to the Channel Islands and begin the journey back to the UK. The Ancasta lead boat ensured a safe crossing of the Channel, guiding everyone back to their home ports.
A heartfelt thank you to all who joined us for this fantastic event. We are already looking forward to the next one!
