Southerly 32 Variable Draft Lift-Keel built in 2013 by Southerly Yachts Ltd to the designs of Stephen Jones. Superior build quality and excellent sailing performance combined with an extremely spacious interior providing accommodation for six. 'Sephina of Beaulieu' comes with an extensive inventory including Solent-Rig with twin headsails, spinnaker pole, electric winches, self-tacking jib, gennaker, spinnaker, heating, bimini, autopilot, bow and stern thrusters, two plotters, radar and much more. VARIABLE DRAFT KEEL (LIFT-KEEL)
The fixed ballast is an iron casting which acts as a grounding plate and as transverse stiffening for the keel unit
The aerofoil shaped keel is cast iron and incorporates a stainless-steel pivot at the leading edge
The keel is raised and lowered by a hydraulic ram powered by an electrically driven pump with a hand operated back-up
All hydraulics are easily accessible for maintenance
There is a keel control and gauge showing keel position fitted at the wheel pedestal and a removable stainless-steel pin, positioned to enable the keel to be locked in the ‘up’ position
