OverviewROCKALL VI is a Mach 40.3 from Sam Manuard and is widely regarded as one of the top boats in the Class 40 fleet.
Hull #155 she is the sister ship to Leyton who placed 2nd in the TJV in 2019 and both boats were built by JPS to the highest order.
#155 is very lightly used with no racing at all in 2019 and only two races in 2020. Some substantial upgrades since new include a new Solent jib, upgraded Code 0 locks and rapid charge systems, which on top of her very low hours of usage, make her a spot on candidate for top end Class and IRC racing in the future, where these boats have become more and more favorable with the latest IRC interpretations.
Built by JPS in France, ROCKALL, originally CORUM, is one of the newest Class 40's on the water today.
Known as the Mach 40.3, her renowned designer Sam Manuard is regarded as one of the top designers in this class and with these new "scow" bows, the jump in performance in recent years has been huge.
Built to the Class 40 box rule, she is constructed from E-glass and epoxy, with a carbon, single spreader rig from Axxon.
Boat weight is down to class minimum and although the main focus has of course been on class racing, the current owner has also explored IRC and ORCi potential and with the TCC's around 1.235 for IRC, the right race track would surely bring these designs silverware under IRC and ORCi racing.
