Overview

"Chenapan 3" is an A35R, or "mk 2" version of the very successful Archambault 35 design.
Built and launched in 2014 she is the only epoxy built boat to date, so remains very stiff, durable and will no doubt stand the test of time better than other versions.
Designed by Bernard Nivelt, the A35R hull shape did not change due to potential rating point increases, but significant changes to deck layout, foil shapes and mast design meant "Chenapan 3" was a huge step up in performance.
The new Axxon HR40 high modulus carbon mast and boomerang spreaders is just another string to the bow with this exciting package.

Build

"Chenapan 3" was built and first launched in 2014.
She was the first of the MK2 designs built and the only one constructed from epoxy.

Designer: Joubert and Nivelt

IRC 2019 - 1.041

The Keel fin was lengthened from the original design by 100mm and weight was increased by around 200kg.
The keel fin was also CFD optimized and given a new improved profile.
The rudder was also CFD optimized and the new design is slightly deeper.

The coach roof design is also changed from the Mk 1, as this is now infused instead of injected and because of the epoxy construction it is a lot stiffer and around 200kg lighter.
Some nice interior modifications were also made and the interior space is now a much nicer environment.

"Chenapan 3" also features some subtle deck layout changes for improved crew ergonomics and sail handling ability, all resulting in a substantially improved package from the standard A35 design.
