JOB SPECIFICATION
Role: Client Project Manager
Reporting to: Senior Client Project Manager
Summary – to manage the commissioning process from boat’s arrival to the client handover, providing technical sales advice and professional guidance as part of Ancasta’s unique customisation service for designated new boat clients – sail & power, mono & multi hulls.
Specific responsibilities will include (but not be limited to) the following:
- Client communication – following Contract signing you will be the main point of contact, ensuring the client experience exceeds all expectations.
- Estimating – presenting standard and custom post-factory options, advising the client on optimum solutions taking into consideration their passage plans and individual requirements.
- Purchasing – negotiate pricing with suppliers, placing orders and expediting delivery.
- Boat arrival – arrange Technician checks, liasing with the warranty team to ensure any transport damage, shortages and defects are reported to the factory.
- Pre-planning – prior to commissioning period ensure all parts have arrived, and all sub-contractors are scheduled.
- Project delivery – ensure this meets client’s expectations, working closely with the Technician to ensure successful delivery.
- Project review – prior to completion, review all costs and margins with Brand Manager to ensure accuracy prior to final invoicing.
- Handover – meet and greet clients, ensuring a seamless handover experience.
- Post handover – introduction to Sales & Service team, passing on relevant pricing for future options and service requirements.
- Option lists – support the head of Commissioning with the continual development of options packages and prices updates to reflect advancing technology.
Person Specification
- Technical sales background an advantage, especially knowledge of systems and equipment such as thrusters, stabilisers, connectivity and power generation.
- Skipper background essential, ideally power and sail.
- Previous experience with yacht manufacturing or project management an advantage.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with customers, suppliers and colleagues alike essential.
- Solid commercial and business acumen desirable, languages an advantage.
- Current passport for occasional travel in Europe for factory visits.
- With an experienced team in place, this role would suit someone looking to develop their skills as a client facing Project Manager in the marine industry.
