Overview


Lady Mariposa R is an immaculately presented Ker 46 and without doubt one of the most exciting and competitive IRC/ORC boats on the RORC/ROLEX circuit today.

These Ker 46 designs have won offshore and inshore races on almost every continent and this was the last and most upgraded build of them all........

Well optimized since launching at the start of 2016, with an optimized sail wardrobe, longer bowsprit, new updated keel fin and both wheel and tiller steering arrangements (new in 2018), this boat has HUGE potential at any regatta it enters.

Lady Mariposa R, was the 4th a final Ker 46 built by McConaghy boats, splashing for the first time in January 2016.

She was lucky to benefit from a lot of design and engineering improvements over the 4 year period of Ker 46's being campaigned globally and has really reaped those rewards, as proven in her results.

KEEL, FIN AND BULB
A generously sized deep ‘T’ shaped lead bulb keel with a high ballast to displacement ratio.
Keel and Keel attachment is in excess of ISO structural regulations.
A new optimized keel fin in December 2018, with a new high-grade, low VCG steel fin, for improved upwind performance, whilst not adding weight.
Spare Iron keel fin.

DESIGN OVERVIEW
Designed and optimized for IRC and ORCi racing, a well balanced performance profile ensures a competitive edge in mixed fleets across a wide range conditions and venues.
A development of previous designs such as the Ker 40 OD, the Ker 43 “Ptarmigan” and the Ker 46 ‘Tonnerre’* the new design not only benefits from further technical advancements in fluid dynamics and composite design, but also from practical experience on the water.
