Mermaid is a classic Gaff Rigged Cutter built to the designs of Alfred Payne in 1860. She was built as a private yacht at a time when most such vessels were converted working boats. As such she is a remarkable survivor and offers a new owner a rare opportunity to be part of England's maritime history. She has been painstakingly restored and renovated at the Ocean Yacht Company, Penpol, Cornwall. The restoration has discreetly incorporated modern additions to allow Mermaid to continue to meet her original design brief as a superb gentleman's sailing yacht.
