Overview

Having been subject to considerable investment under her current ownership, the well renowned and arguably best looking Half Tonner Miss Whiplash is now available. This Andrieu design is a racing machine which comes with an excellent competitive pedigree both locally and further afield and is a consistent contender at the Half Ton Cup. Much time and money has been invested in the vessel including an extensive sail wardrobe (featuring barley used North 3DL's and 3DI's) and significant hull, keel and rudder modifications meaning that Whiplash' will remain competitive for many seasons to come. An excellent boat for the serious campaigner or club racer alike, her competitive lineage needs to be continued!

Build

Racing Yacht Built in 1986 to the Half Ton specification and Designed by Daniel Andrieu epoxy hull and E glass with carbon reinforcing

Complete overhaul of hull and high load areas
New bulkheads for chainplates
New bunk areas
Reinforced keel area up to chainplate knees (to spread load through to keel area)
Reinforced stemhead with carbon cloth
Complete re build of cockpit and aft end of yacht
New longitudinal stringers and bulkhead to tie aft of yacht to mid and forward section of yacht (2015)
All work checked and spoke to original designer (Daniel Andrieu)
Topside resprayed in AWL-Grip paint in 2014
Underwater surfaces painted with 8 coats of Epoxy primer and wet flatted back to matt finish
Nautix A4 antifouling sprayed on and wet flat sanded back to 1000 grit
Interior painted with International toplac med white
Deck painted with Duropox epoxy coatings with non slip granules

New appendages
New Mark mills keel made by iron brothers
New high aspect rudder (designer is a secret but worked for Oracle during the AC challenge)
New jeffa roller bearings top and bottom and composite rudder tube
New mahogany and ash tiller with carbon reinforcing
