Overview
The lightweight design follows the exterior lines that are now well established across the range, and progresses these with inclusion of an extensive aft deck space and hydraulic beach club platform.
Retaining a sleek and low profile, the MC100’s flybridge is the boat’s crowning glory, providing an elevated position for the dual helm and a spacious seating area that benefits from this higher vantage point.

The use of glass becomes all the more prominent with the MC100 design’s and UV reflective glazing runs the length of the boat on both the port and starboard sides. Extended skylights in the forward portion of the flybridge fill the saloon with natural light and enhance the visual connection between sea and sky.

Aboard the MC100, one can enjoy a luxurious lifestyle with an array of desirable amenities. There’s a forward Jacuzzi nestled between sumptuous sun pads, both exterior and interior bar counters, a huge TV screen ingeniously concealed within the saloon dining table and plenty of storage space for water toys and provisions – including two scuba diving lockers.

Below, the accommodation can be configured between the port and starboard hulls to suit owner specification. McConaghy present their concept for the MC100 with a galley, utility, crew quarters and two en suite guest cabins to port, and the master suite, a third guest cabin and Captain’s accommodation to starboard. This results in accommodation for eight in total with a complement of up to four crew.

Machinery

MECHANICAL & SYSTEMS
McConaghy will provide systems design.
In general, access to the machinery and pumps is carefully taken into account during the detailing process. Removable Panels are provided to allow service access to all systems, valves, junction boxes etc.
All vibrating or moving items are, as far as is practical, fitted on anti-vibration mounts. All vital equipment such as bilge pumping, fire-fighting equipment, transfer of fuel, freshwater, black water, has the provision to work from a second reserve pump in order to ensure maximum safety.
All pipes in the machinery space are polished, painted or plastic coated and marked with the system number. Labels are used to show the direction of flow and the contents of the pipes. Pipes carrying cooled or heated liquids are insulated as appropriate.
Pipes are laid out where possible along the centerline under the floor and orthogonally, flow restrictions are minimized and care taken to ensure that drain points are accessible.
Clamps bolted to the structure will support them and in accommodation space they will be isolated from the pipe hangers with nylon, or equivalent, saddles. Where pipes pass through a watertight bulkhead the penetration will be watertight. All valves are individually identified and pipe and valve names are shown on the system diagrams.

The system is designed to allow for silent running to a continuous power of 10kw.This is achieved by utilizing Mastervolts 24/5500 Lithium batteries together with 3 x Mass Combi Pro 24/3500 Inverter chargers.
The house bank has a usable battery capacity of 1280 amps. The system is expected to run for approximately 9 hours by battery whilst running with a load average of 3.3kw.
The engines will be fitted with 2 x 24 volts 240 Amp Alternators and Mastervolt Regulators to allow for a total recharge of 480 Amps or approximately 11kw.
This will allow the systems to be run whilst the engines are running without the need to start the generator. This is possible provided the electrical loads are within the available power output of the inverters.

The ACMI mains panel will allow the AC system to be easily managed and allow the use of a generator auto start function to be activated using programmed logic.
The system will also be able to manage loads when required for example when the load is required to be taken off the generator for use of the thruster via a PTO. The system will have touch screen control via the C-zone Touch 10 located in a common
area and touch 5 located in a technical space for diagnostics and redundancy. Systems can also be controlled via push buttons where dedicated controls are needed. All circuits can be safely manually bypassed in an emergency or fault situation.

There will be a dedicated radio / emergency battery which when activated by the emergency bypass will power communications and critical equipment via a manual switch panel. These items will be able to be controlled via a traditional style switch panel when in bypass mode and will offer simple yet reliable redundancy for critical systems.

1404 Lighting
The lighting shall be LED.

1405 Power Outlets
Power outlets will be located throughout the vessel.

1406 Cables
All cables are sized in accordance with manufacturers' recommendations and are selected to comply with standard electrical regulations allowing for voltage, maximum current, length and voltage drop. Cables are selected to the highest specification to provide long durability and high safety margins. Light weight cables shall be used where possible.
Electrical designation and marking: All cables are marked at both ends with alphanumeric code to correspond with the ships circuit diagrams. Individual cores are coded similarly.
Cable routes and supports: Wherever possible cables follow a common service route with other services, and are accessible for maintenance purposes. Cables run on cable trays and in ducts secured to the structure, and are placed as high as possible and out of bilge areas. Where cables pass through watertight or fireproof bulkheads appropriate thru-bulkhead glands are used.
Cables will be attached to cable trays and fastened with Tie-wraps.
Separation will be insured between A/V lines and power lines.
Main power distribution lines (EG, Generators, Propulsion motors, thrusters, and large sub panels) will be separated out and run in independent cable trays without wires on top and room all around for cooling.

Broker Comments

From the designer, Jason Ker of KER Yacht Design “I’m passionate about designing boats that give their owners a wonderful on water experience.“I’m a sailor and if I know in my heart that I would have a fantastic time on board with my friends and family… then I know I’ve got the design right. I also get really excited about the best use of space, especially when you engineer a boat to be lighter. On a multihull a small weight increase has a big impact… so we’ve worked really hard to save weight. For example we’ve used carbon where it makes a difference.”“It’s wonderful to work with the shipwrights at McConaghy." “This team are vastly experienced in building catamarans which are much lighter than the average cruising cat… yet safe, secure and stiff.”The MC range has Bureau Veritas classification for blue water sailing – the highest global rating.
